YOUNG LAWYERS PROGRAM

Interns, Trainee Lawyers and Young Professionals form an essential part of the international ECCHR staff. ECCHR is committed to ensuring that the next generation of lawyers develop competence and expertise in human rights litigation. The up to fifteen participants of the on-going program have a legal background or come from the field of political science, international relation, translation, public relations and outreach, web design, communication or fundraising. Additional part of all areas is a high interest and a basic knowledge of human rights work and the NGO sector. Since 2008, ECCHR has sponsored more than 100 interns, graduates and lawyers from different European and Non-European countries who work with ECCHR. They are given invaluable on-the-job training and an opportunity to work on high-profile human rights litigation under the supervision of experts.

PUBLIC EDUCATION PROGRAM

Within its Public Education Program, ECCHR organizes conferences and other public events, conducts media outreach, and publishes online and print reports and communications. Further information about upcoming events you can find on the front page. An overview of past events you find HERE

NETWORKING PROGRAM

There is only a small cadre of experienced human rights lawyers worldwide who have the knowledge, ability and resources to focus on the strategic development of the legal framework of accountability for human rights violations. ECCHR facilitates knowledge sharing and the planning of coordinated litigation strategies by organizing workshops or with a broad variety of other means.

ADVANCED TRAINING PROGRAM

ECCHR offers in cooperation with lawyer organisations advanced training events for lawyers. In November 2008, a weekend event on the filing of applications to the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg took place in cooperation with the German Republican Lawyers Association (RAV), Amnesty International and the Berlin Bar Association.
